Project Details
Duqm Beach resort is located directly between Al Duqm City Centre and Coastal District. The site acts as a bridge, linking the City Centre District and Al Duqm’s Coastal District. As a result, Duqm Beach Resort has been designed as hybrid of both districts, combining commercial precincts, residential communities and a landmark, iconic tourism precinct.
The project involves development of a mixed-use scheme comprising a five-star hotel and a four-star hotel, restaurants and entertainment precincts, residential dwellings, an international school and commercial space housing offices and retail stores. The Duqm Beach Resort will be located on a 45-hectare site in the Duqm Special Economic Zone (SEZAD). It will consist:
- Residential apartments (1439)
- Villas (168)
- Commercial buildings
- Hotels(1439)
- Sports recreation facilities
- Education precinct
- Water play park
The resort company is an investment alliance between an Australian Group and Al Jazeera International. The first phase will be devoted to establishment of infrastructure for the development, tourism and other commercial activities along with residential units that will be constructed to meet the existing demand for affordable residential units in Duqm.
The tourism scheme will initially start in the entertainment and recreation sector in order to target naval ships and businesses operating in SEZAD. The first phase will consist of buildings 4 and 5 with a GBA of 45,000 square meters. Buildings 4 and 5 have:
- An underground parking
- A ground floor with commercial areas and
- Four levels of residential apartments
- Two swimming pools
- A green area and
- Internal roads
